LEARNING COMMONS

Our Learning Commons is not only a library, but an inclusive space for our students to read, create, collaborate and problem solve.
We have thousands of books set up for our Accelerated Reading Program. This program has always been important for our teachers and students as it promotes reading accuracy and comprehension. Students also have the opportunity to check out books of their choice each week.
We have a huge variety of picture books and chapter books in dozens of genres.
A.B. Daley offers a unique reading opportunity for students called “Story Dogs” We have partnered with the Nanton Quality of Life and many great community members and furry friends. This program pairs students with a dog and its owner to listen and support a student’s literacy journey.
We host a Scholastic book fair each spring. This is a chance for families to support our school library and classrooms. It is so much fun for our kids to come and shop (or just browse) the newest book titles and trinkets. All profits from these sales go directly back to our school to purchase books, classroom supplies, art materials, sensory toys, furniture and many other educational resources.
