We have a wonderful storybook reading castle in the library, and 26,000 library books. Parent support has been a terrific help in: the creation of the castle; the building of the collection; covering and taping books; and support for the Book Fair. We have 65 baskets of grade 1 home reading books. Forty kindergarten backpacks promote home literacy activities, thanks to Project Read. We have an extensive grade 1-6 collection of Accelerated Reader books for this computerized reading program. Book Fairs, monthly book orders and an opportunity to purchase magazines each March support community literacy. Parents are welcome to borrow books, and we have many volunteer opportunities. We do expect students to pay for lost books, but reimburse them later on if the book turns up.
