Amy Gillespie
Grade 3/4
I am actually a former AB Daley student. My parents moved my sister and I to an acreage just outside of Nanton when I was in Grade 2 and it was the best thing that could have ever happened to me. I graduated from JT Foster in 2002 and after taking a year off, working at the Nanton Golf Course, I enrolled in the education program at the University of Lethbridge. I graduated from the U of L in 2008 and got a job teaching grade 4 in Iron Springs, Alberta that September. Since then, I have taught grades 1,4,5 and 6 in Claresholm, Stavely and Nanton. I knew that I always wanted to make my way back to Nanton, so in 2014, My husband and I moved our family from our small acreage East of Claresholm, back to my childhood acreage near Nanton.
I have 2 daughters. Eila, who is 6 and currently in Grade 1, and Wynne, who is 18 months. We love renovating our house and acreage, riding horses and camping. I am heavily involved in the Nanton Curling Club and the Nanton Agricultural Society and just became the Chair of the Clifford and Louise Scholarship Foundation. I Love being a part of the Nanton community again and am happy that I can give back to a community that has given me so much.
